One QAG Afternoon Tea

With the start of our late Summer and Autumn catering menus, from 1 September One Queen Anne's Gate introduces Afternoon Tea which will be available from 2.30pm to include, home made finger sandwiches, filled bridge rolls, home made cakes, scones and pastries. October will see the introduction of our new fine dining menu featuring classic British game dishes - a speciality of our inhouse chef.

Harri the Otter

As part of our commitment to supporting the environment through our CSR Policy, One Queen Anne's Gate has adopted Harri the Otter at ZSL London Zoo.

Harri is a female Oriental small-clawed otter and lives with her family group of sisters at ZSL. During the summer they spend a lot of their time swimming around their pool and playing with the logs and branches floating on the surface.

A favourite food for Harri and her sisters is crayfish, the shells are cracked with their claws and teeth as they would in the wild.

ZSL is a charity devoted to the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats and One Queen Anne's Gate is delighted to be able to help support them.

Green Tourism for London Silver Award

One Queen Anne's Gate has been awarded Silver within the Green Tourism Business Scheme critera and evaluation process.

Within their audit report GTBS acknowledge a progression in the venue communicating their green message effectively, with meeting rooms having copies of the environmental policy, responsible visitor information, the use of recycled materials (flipchart pads, stationery, pens and pencils) and the good use of water bottling onsite.

Waste continues to be effectively recycled and this now includes food waste that is uplifted to a community recycling organisation.

Venue Director Adele Summers says "With the limitations that a historical listed building can bring, we are delighted to have been awarded the Green Tourism Business Scheme's Silver Award which builds on our green commitment and our original Bronze Award. One QAG will continue to work towards reducing our carbon footprint in line with our Environmental Policy".

Charlotte climbs Mount Kilimanjaro

Our General Manager is on a mission...

In 3 weeks time, Charlotte, along with 6 friends, will be taking a trip of a lifetime and attempting to scale the heights of Kilimanjaro.

Charlotte has been training with the British Military Fitness club for 8 months in preparation for the 19344 foot climb and will be raising money for STOP Hunger as well as WaterAid

If anyone would like to sponsor Charlotte (and give her that added boost to reach the summit!) then all donations would be very gratefully received.

Olympic Ceremony title revealed!

London 2012's opening ceremony has been dubbed "Isles of Wonder" by the ceremony's artistic director, Danny Boyle.

The opening ceremony will take place on 27th July 2012, with the Olympic Torch passing by One Queen Anne's Gate the day before, on July 26th.

Around one billion viewers are expected to tune into the opening ceremony, which will have a 15,000 strong cast, including school children from host boroughs.

Make sure you book your Olympic event with us early to avoid disappointment!

Huge Congratulations - Charlotte scales Mt Kilimanjaro!

Charlotte has completed her climb of Mount Kilimanjaro for WaterAid and STOP Hunger, raising over £700 so far!

Charlotte trekked for four days (and up to an altitude of 4700m!) before her nighttime summit climb, finally reaching the 5895m summit on the fifth day.

You will be able to read Charlotte's story here soon.

Charlotte wants to raise £1000 in total, so we're not far off! Her donation pages are still open, so if you can, please support these fantastic charities, donations are gratefully received.
